Retrogen,
Inc. delivers both the simple text files
and the electropherogram files of the completed
DNA sequences. Once received, the electropherogram
files can be opened using either Chromas
(for PCs), Edit View (for Macs), FinchTV
(for PCs, Macs, and Linux) or BioEdit (for
PCs) sequence analysis software. All of
these applications can be downloaded for
free from the links as indicated below.
The simple text files of the sequences can
be opened using Microsoft Word.
The
fastest and the most convenient way for
us to deliver the sequence files is via
E-Mail in Bin Hex format. Eudora E-Mail
software is recommended for receiving the
sequence files and can be downloaded for
free. In general, Unix computers are not
very successful in receiving E-Mail attachments
and Hotmail and Yahoo E-Mail accounts do
not have enough storage capacity to receive
the large sequence files.
